Aidan Hutchinson is going through hell every time the Lions play
Junfu Han / USA TODAY NETWORK

The Detroit Lions defensive line just hasn't been getting the sack numbers that Lions fans were hoping for. The guy that's been taking all the blame for this has been former 2nd overall pick Aidan Hutchinson. After a really nice rookie year and good start to this season, Hutchinson has gone quiet. This has of course led to the kneejerk reaction that he's not elite or that he's not good at all.

The truth is that this resides in hell every week. He has little to no help out there and offenses are strategically game planning just for him. It's time that fans get a real glimpse at what a day in Hutchinson's life on the field looks like. Here's 10 of the Packers first passing plays from the first half of Thursday's game.

First play of the game

The Packers opened the day up with a 53 yard bomb to Christian Watson. They did it out of shotgun and they immediately double teamed Hutchinson. The rest of the line moves right and the Lions defensive line goes with them. McNeill might have had a hole there if Quinton Bohanna didn't take two guys with him to fill that hole.

Strategic running

Maybe I'm giving the Packers too much credit on this one. But they have to know that Hutchinson loves to go to the outside so they have Dillon run super close and kind of chip Hutchinson. It causes him to stutter step for half a second and that half a second was long enough to get the pass off.

The one that says it all

There's some serious levels to this thing. First he has to fight off the right tackle, then he's met with the center and once he gets past him, the running back is there. By the time he's past the running back, the ball is out. I don't care how good an edge rusher is, you can't beat that. It's unbeatable. Elite or not.

Good pressure, just got picked up

Hutchinson actually reads this one pretty nicely and he probably has a sack on most plays. The problem is that you can actually see the moment Jordan Love looks to his left and see's Hutchinson beating his tackle and he takes off. The pass is incomplete and this is probably marked down as a hurry for Hutchinson.

Doubled right away

The Lions flipped Hutchinson over to the left side on this play and you can see before the snap even happens that he's got two guys right in front of him. They mug him immediately. It's really hard to get past that kind of blocking.

They wanted to get beat

This is a very smart play by the Packers. They put their tight end on Hutchinson and the whole plan here is to let Hutchinson get past him. Hutchinson throws him off and then he rolls down the field wide open for a touchdown. Tracy Walker has a chance to blow the whole thing up, but he couldn't get there in time.

Why doesn't he just go inside?

I always hear about how Hutchinson likes to go outside too much. It's true, he does do that and he's had success doing that too. Then they say "why doesn't he just go inside?" Here is forced to. Levi Onwuzurike heads to the outside and takes up two offensive linemen. The problem is he sort of walls Hutchinson off here. Hutchinson heads for the inside, but he's met by the center and as soon as he starts to make his move on the center, Love takes off. Hutchinson still chases him down though.

They're doing that triple thing again

This one happens really fast, but it's the same theory as play three. Hutchinson gets picked up by three guys here. The running back doesn't have to pick up a block this time since the ball is out, but he's right there in case.

Doubled again

Two guys standing in front of him before the snap again. You can see on the other side that Cominsky nearly gets home. But this is a strong showing of why the Lions aren't getting sacks. Nobody can capitalize on the attention that Hutchinson gets.

Seriously, tripled again

Love got the ball out super fast on this one so you didn't really get to see the full triple block. But you can see once the snap happens that three guys sort of unfold out in front of him. The Lions should have had a sack on the opposite side here. That's why Love got rid of the ball so fast.

There you go. That's just 10 of the first passing plays from the Packers on Thursday. It goes on like that for the rest of the day. This guy seriously needs some help out there.
