A.J. Brown discusses Eagles offense amid 'boring' claims

The Philadelphia Eagles are 3-0, despite their offense not being entertaining in the opinion of some.

On a Tuesday episode of ESPN's "First Take," future Hall of Fame quarterback Drew Brees said the Eagles' offense is "boring." Philadelphia wide receiver A.J. Brown wouldn't go that far, but he believes the team should spice up its play calling.

A.J. Brown wants Eagles to be more aggressive

"The goal is to win the game, and obviously we want to do that first," Brown said Wednesday, via Ashlyn Sullivan of NBC Sports Philadelphia. "I think it took too long as an offense to adjust in [Week 3] and be more aggressive. When one thing's not working, let's not keep trying to bang our head on the wall and see if it'll work. Let's mix it up and do what we need to do."

The Eagles should start by targeting Brown earlier in Sunday's road game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (3-0) at 1 p.m. ET (Fox). In the first half of a 33-26 Week 3 win over the Rams, he had only one target and zero receptions, and Philadelphia trailed 19-7 at halftime. After finishing with six receptions for 109 yards and one touchdown catch, the WR said the team's second-half surge was tied to him getting the ball more.

The Eagles haven't been doing that enough through the first three weeks of the season, which is one reason they rank 29th in the league in passing yards (146.7). Brown has just 19 targets through three games and is averaging a career-low 48 receiving yards per game.

On Monday, Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni complimented the star WR for remaining steadfast while the team fixes the offensive bugs. He should reward him with more targets against the Buccaneers' 19th-ranked passing defense (213 YPG).

All of the Eagles' wins thus far have been by one possession. Against the Rams, they blocked a field goal as time expired to secure the victory. Philadelphia won't have to keep relying on late-game magic if it gets Brown more involved. Instead, it could count on an explosive offense.
