The Philadelphia Eagles appear to be closer to finishing the AJ Brown trade saga with a move that would send the star wide receiver to an AFC powerhouse. Brown’s 2025 season didn’t go as expected. His unhappiness with the team’s offense only fueled the rumors about his exit.
After rumors linked him with the Buffalo Bills, the Baltimore Ravens, the Los Angeles Chargers and the San Francisco 49ers, among others, Brown’s market went quiet.
The New England Patriots and the Los Angeles Rams were the final two in the race for Brown’s services. Nevertheless, the Eagles decided not to move him until later this offseason.
On Thursday, social media sensation Rickey Scoops (via Savage on X) reported that the Philadelphia Eagles and the New England Patriots agreed on an AJ Brown trade. The trade would be effective in June.
“I’ve been told that the #Eagles and #Patriots have an agreement in place to trade AJ Brown post-June 1 and should be official June 2. Howie has been trying to get 2026 picks, but his magic did not work this time,” Scoops reported.

Savage noted that “Rickey Scoops” hasn’t been accurate with his predictions about the Patriots. Still, considering that the Rams ruled themselves out of the race, it wouldn’t be crazy to see that happen.
