AJ Brown’s health is once again under scrutiny, and the news is foreboding for the New England Patriots.
Brown did not practice Thursday due to a knee issue. It is unclear if he will be able to play against the Miami Dolphins in Week 8.
#Patriots WR AJ Brown, not spotted at practice today, is not practicing because of a knee issue that has flared up, sources say. Brown also was listed on yesterday’s injury report with an ankle. Knee was added, as well, and his status for Sunday is up in the air. https://t.co/WvVJl6S6J6

Brown’s missed practice comes on the heels of an admission he made Wednesday in which he conceded that his right ankle is still not where he wants it to be.
“Yeah, sometimes, you know, I see it, and sometimes, I’m pushing through,” Brown told Mike Giardi of Boston Sports Journal. “But none of that stuff even matters. I’m out here, so I’m going.”
Brown has lacked his usual explosiveness since his return from injury. In his first game back, he dropped an easy touchdown pass, and he only has six catches for 75 yards in two games since his return. Nobody associated with the Patriots was publicly blaming the injury, but it may have been a problem.
Between the ankle and now the knee, there has to be some concern for Brown going forward this season. The injuries have kept him from being anywhere near as impactful as the Patriots hoped he would be when acquiring him in the offseason.
