A.J. Brown Rumor Has NFL World's Attention Ahead Of Trade Deadline

Things seem to be deteriorating rapidly between the Philadelphia Eagles and wide receiver A.J. Brown as the NFL trade deadline approaches. The team's back-to-back losses have only exacerbated things.

There have been rumblings that Brown isn't happy with his role in the Eagles' offense dating all the way back to last season and continued even amid the team's 4-0 start. As it stands, he's currently averaging a career-low 46 yards per game and has one touchdown in six games.

Nevertheless, Brown is expected to be a top target of Super Bowl-ready teams as the trade deadline approaches. That being said, the Eagles are reportedly not planning on trading Brown.

Open To Bargain?

NFL insider Dianna Russini of The Athletic has reported that NFL executives have serious doubts that the Eagles are as married to that idea as they say they are.

Speaking to an anonymous NFL general manager, Russini learned that the team sees Brown as someone the team might be willing to move for the right value:

"It would have to be for the right player or pick but (a trade) wouldn't surprise me. Howie (Roseman, the Eagles' GM) likes deals especially if a player's value overrides how Brown is being used."

It's not like Brown hasn't overstayed his welcome before. His famous trade from the Tennessee Titans to the Philadelphia Eagles came under similar circumstances. And it's not like the Eagles can't live without him. As mentioned earlier, they reached 4-0 even while he was averaging about 40 yards per game.

Nevertheless, the Eagles aren't likely to give Brown up for pennies on the dollar the way the Titans were several years ago. As the AFC GM said, it will probably take an offer that Roseman can't refuse based on a combination of value factors.

NFL teams might not be so eager to bring Brown into the fold now that he's gained a reputation for being disgruntled even when his teams are thriving.

Do you think Brown will be traded before the deadline?
