On Friday, the NFL informed its teams that the longstanding NFL players union tradition of publishing the results of its internal player-only report card on the teams they play for would be ended. The survey itself would remain, but the results will no longer be made public.
"Sources: The NFL informed all 32 teams today in a memo that it prevailed in its grievance vs. the NFLPA and its 'team report cards.' An arbitrator determined that the NFLPA’s conduct violated the CBA and ordered it to stop making public any future report cards," ESPN's Adam Schefter reported today.
Fans quickly lashed out at the news, admonishing the NFL owners for being too weak to accept some public criticism and scrutiny.
But while most fans are complaining, New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara is thinking about a solution. His big idea: Just let the players make their own report cards and publish it themselves.
"What if the players made one and tweeted it out at the end of every year lol," he suggested, adding a laughing emoji.

NFL fans quickly latched onto the idea, pointing out it might be even better if the players simply graded the owners themselves rather than filtering their thoughts through the NFLPA.
"Yes, that’s a good point. They challenged the union on how the survey was conducted and the general methodology in relation to the union. Players should be careful because the union could have purposely undermined the players idea," one user remarked.
"Even a national reporter just interviewing yall for opinions, stack the tab rankings, and provide their analysis. Someone’s gotta be willing to do it and run the story. It would get tons of clicks," another suggested.
"Do it Alvin don’t let him these trash silence the players. They need you guys more than anything," a third wrote.
Unfortunately for Kamara, the quickest path to the unemployment line is to defy both the league owners AND the NFLPA in taking that kind of action. Just about everyone pointed out that players like Kamara would be instantly traded if they tried to say anything negative about the owners and put their names to it.
It's a fun suggestion though and maybe there is some alternate path to the players getting their REAL thoughts on the owners made public in lieu of the annual player report cards. But that one might not be it.
