We all know how crazy obsessed Detroit Lions receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown can be. Crazy obsessed in a good way, of course. How many times have you heard that St. Brown keeps a list of receivers drafted ahead of him?
Thanks to season two of Netflix's Quarterback, we now know there was a whole other wrinkle to that. At USC, St. Brown wore the number eight. Going into the NFL, he made a special plan with his girlfriend, Brooklyn Adams, on what his number would be.
"He'll never admit this, but he asked me to count the amount of receivers (drafted) before him and that was going to be his number," Adams said. "And I messed up. And it's not 14, and I told him it was 14."
As we know, there weren't 14 receivers taken before St. Brown in the 2021 NFL Draft; there were 16. That could have potentially changed everything, couldn't it have? Can you imagine St. Brown in number 16, and Goff is something else? St. Brown can't.
"I should have chose 16 looking back at it, but I think Jared looks better in 16 than me."
Obviously, rookie St. Brown could have wanted 16, but Goff would have likely won that battle because he's been number 16 going back to high school at Marin Catholic.
