Broncos WR KJ Hamler suffers possible season-ending setback

Broncos head coach Nathaniel Hackett indicated K.J. Hamler's right hamstring injury could end his season.

"He had a setback (in his recovery)," said Hackett in a Thursday news conference. He added they're continuing to evaluate if the Broncos will shut Hamler down for the remainder of the season. He hasn't played since Week 8.

Although he won't save Denver (3-8), it's disappointing because Hamler flashed big-play potential throughout the season. He averaged 23.6 yards per reception in seven games, which led the Broncos.

Hamler's 20-40 yard catches are an asset Denver's offense needed. It's inept, ranking last in scoring (14.3 points per game), failing to score 20 points in nine of its eleven games this season.

Ironically, in the two games where the Broncos scored 20 points, Hamler hauled in a 55-yard and a 47-yard reception.

Unfortunately, big plays in limited time summarize Hamler's three seasons in Denver. He's missed 23 of Denver's 45 games.
