Browns place LS Charley Hughlett, FB Johnny Stanton IV on COVID-19 list

The Cleveland Browns have had nothing but bad news to offer fans at the start of their bye coming off Sunday's disappointing 16-10 loss at the Baltimore Ravens that dropped them to 6-6 on the season.

Cleveland confirmed Monday that long snapper Charley Hughlett has been placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list. Additionally, fullback Johnny Stanton IV has been added to the practice squad/COVID-19 list.

As Myles Simmons noted for Pro Football Talk, Hughlett hasn't yet missed a game this season. Because it's unknown if either Hughlett or Stanton are dealing with COVID-19 symptoms, their statuses for the home matchup against the first-place Ravens (8-3) on Dec. 12 are up in the air.

This update came after reports emerged that Browns starting right tackle Jack Conklin will miss the remainder of the campaign with a torn patellar tendon in his right knee that he suffered in the first quarter of Sunday's defeat. While it's fortunate Cleveland is on the bye, the team's coronavirus situation may be something to monitor moving forward. The Dallas Cowboys are dealing with a COVID-19 outbreak that has included head coach Mike McCarthy testing positive for the virus.

As of Monday afternoon, Dallas remains scheduled to play at the New Orleans Saints on Thursday evening.
