Cowboys nervous about Dak Prescott's calf injury?

The Dallas Cowboys won their fifth straight game and improved to 5-1 on the season via Sunday's 35-29 overtime win over the New England Patriots, but the victory may have come at a high price. Dallas quarterback and early NFL Most Valuable Player candidate Dak Prescott strained his right calf on his game-winning 35-yard touchdown pass to wide receiver CeeDee Lamb in the extra period and was spotted in a walking boot after the contest.

According to Charean Williams of Pro Football Talk, Cowboys executive vice president Stephen Jones spoke about the signal-caller's status during his Monday appearance on Dallas radio station 105.3 The Fan.

"Anytime you’re sending your quarterback in for an MRI, there’s a little nervousness, but also know how what a competitor and how tough Dak is, and optimistic that we’re going to get good results there," Jones explained. "But certainly we’ll have to see how that comes out, and we’ll be getting those shortly. Hopefully, we’re thinking positive and think that he’ll be hopefully ready to go against Minnesota."

The good news for Prescott and company is that the Cowboys are on their bye week, so everyone on the roster has some extra time to rest and get right for the showdown at the Minnesota Vikings on Halloween night.

Per ESPN stats, Prescott enters Monday evening fifth in the NFL with 1,813 passing yards and tied for third with 16 touchdown throws.
