Eagles kicker Jake Elliott being accused of cheating?

Is Eagles kicker Jake Elliott a cheater?

"The New York Post," along with several other media outlets, have accused Elliott and the Eagles of cheating against the Giants in Week 14 this season.

The Eagles' field goal unit has allegedly used an unknown white object to mark the kicking spot on extra points and field goals.

Elliott has denied these allegations.

"We've always used something that's within the rules," Elliott said, according to NJ.com. "It's literally just to mark the spot. It's part of the playing surface, like a piece of grass or something like that.

As seen in the video above, Eagles placeholder Arryn Siposs is suspected of using an object to spot the ball and give the kicker an advantage by lifting it off the ground. Placing any object under the ball is against the rules.

Elliott and the Eagles have spoken to the NFL about this matter, per Sports Illustrated

"We talked to them, we explained what we're doing, and they saw what we're doing," Elliott said, according to NJ.com. "Probably 30 teams do it around the league. It's just a point of emphasis, and someone makes it bigger than it is. Everything we've done has been completely legal."

Elliott has made 20 of 23 field goals and logged career-highs in extra points attempted and made by going 51-of-53, per ESPN

Elliott won the NFC Special Teams Player of the Week award thanks to his five field goals against the Giants in the season finale.

Elliott was the Eagles' starting kicker when they won the Super Bowl in 2017. He made the Pro Bowl last year.

NFL referees were told to be on the lookout for the object during the Eagles-Giants divisional round game Saturday.
