Ten years ago, the San Francisco 49ers and Seattle Seahawks were arguably the biggest rivals in the NFL. These two teams still have heated battles and can take joy in each other’s downfalls. Sometimes, this even includes the players. Yesterday, former Seahawks RB Marshawn Lynch poked fun at 49ers fans after the 49ers lost Super Bowl LVIII to the Kansas City Chiefs.

Marshawn Lynch Trolls 49ers Fans

Super Bowl LVIII took place at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, NV. Shortly after the game, Marshawn Lynch was seen walking around one of Las Vegas’ casinos. It was there he started looking for 49ers fans.

On camera, he approached every 49ers fan he saw in the casino. Here is what he typically said to each fan:

“Are you a 49ers fan? F*** you!” -Marshawn Lynch

Most San Francisco fans in the casino seemed to have a good laugh from this. Others were star-struck by his presence. However, for some of these fans, the loss was a little too fresh to joke around about it.

Seattle Seahawks vs. San Francisco 49ers Rivalry

There was a time when the Seahawks vs. 49ers rivalry was arguably the biggest in the NFL. This mainly occurred because both teams were very good in the early 2010s.

The 49ers set the standard by making the NFC Championship in the 2011-12 season and then making the Super Bowl in the 2012-13 season. The Seahawks answered by making a playoff appearance in the 2012-13 season with rookie QB Russell Wilson. However, despite a divisional loss to the Atlanta Falcons that postseason, many people expected big things from the Seahawks.

Finally, in the 2013-14 season, these two teams clashed. The Seahawks ended up defeating the 49ers in a memorable NFC Championship. Seattle also went on to win the Super Bowl that season. However, in the last five years, the 49ers have found much more success with four NFC Championship appearances and two Super Bowl appearances.

Super Bowl LVIII Heartbreak

San Francisco fans are going to remember this loss for a long time. The 49ers were up by 10 points at one point in this game. Plus, this is just the second Super Bowl ever to go to overtime.

Unfortunately, the 49ers missed an extra point in the fourth quarter that got them there. Plus, they chose to receive the ball first in overtime and failed to get a touchdown. The Chiefs took advantage of this and won on the next drive. Now, 49ers fans have to deal with people like Marshawn Lynch rubbing it in.
