Gronk, Shaq co-hosting virtual party fundraiser for social justice

Shaquille O'Neal and Rob Gronkowski are known as two of the most fun and entertaining players in their respective sports, and the two have decided to team up to use their party powers for good. The duo will be co-hosting Shaq's Fun House vs. Gronk Beach, a virtual party that will also serve as a fundraiser, with all proceeds going to the NAACP Empowerment Programs and the Boys & Girls Clubs of America.

"We want to be sensitive to people. That's why we wanted [it] to be labeled as 'Party with a Purpose,'" said O'Neal. "We just want to bring a little joy. There's a lot of stuff going on, and we are aware of that, and we hope to do our part. We're gonna continue to do our part."

Shaq's Fun House vs. Gronk Beach virtual party is set to air June 27 at 8 p.m. EST, with musical performances by Snoop Dogg, Da Baby, Steve Aoki, Diplo, and, of course, DJ Diesel, Shaq's spin-master alter ego. The event will also feature Shaq and Gronk facing off in a series of competitions, including a game of HORSE and a chicken wing eating contest.

Of course, all of this is being put together for a good cause, so each time Shaq wins a competition, a donation will be made the Boys & Girls Clubs of America. And each time Gronk wins, a donation will be made to the NAACP Empowerment Programs. DoorDash is partnering with the two for the event and has pledged to donate one meal for every live stream viewer, up to 1.25 million meals, through Feeding America.

"We wanted to do it now with a purpose, and this is a purpose to raise money for great causes, and to raise money for everything that's going on out there," said Gronkowski. "So, music, sports, competitions - we just knew that it was a win-win. And on top of it, whenever Shaq and I have the chance to come together and bring other people together - 'cause that's what we love to do, is bring everyone together, unite everyone together - we just knew it was a no-brainer to do."

Shaq's Fun House vs. Gronk Beach virtual party will be live-streamed free on ShaqvsGronk.com and should be available across a variety of platforms including LiveXLive, Facebook, Twitch, YouTube and Twitter.
