Kenny Pickett's car stolen during radio interview

Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Kenny Pickett spent Wednesday afternoon doing an hour-long interview with 93.7 The Fan in Pittsburgh.

It turned out to be a rather big inconvenience for him.

Not because he had to spend an hour answering questions, but because his car was stolen from the location where he was making the appearance, according to court documents obtained by Steelers Now.

The interview was taking place at a suburban Pittsburgh car dealership where the station was broadcasting its show from that day. During that time, Pickett's 2023 Genesis SUV was stolen.

Not only was his car stolen, but his Steelers playbook was also in the car at the time. Fortunately for Pickett, the car and playbook were both recovered just a few hours later.

Police were able to track down the alleged car thief, a 60-year-old man, because he left his own car at the dealership. He was tracked through his license plate, while police later found Pickett's SUV outside of the suspect's home while responding to a domestic incident at the same address. There are obviously a lot of layers to that story.

Once police knew the identity of the alleged thief, he was seen entering the dealership around 1:30 p.m. ET and leaving in Pickett's SUV just a couple of hours later.

The good news for Pickett is that he was able to get his car back relatively quickly.

The good news for the Steelers is that his playbook did not end up going missing or end up in the wrong hands, something that could have been problematic for him and the team.
