Matthew Stafford's wife discusses decision to sell Michigan home

It seems that Matthew Stafford putting his Michigan home up for sale has no connection to the Detroit Lions quarterback wanting to move on from the organization.

While there were rumors that Stafford requested a trade from the Lions, he shot down those rumors immediately on Thursday. Now his wife, Kelly, is discussing the couple's decision to sell their gorgeous lakefront Michigan home in light of the massive speculation.

“No speculation is needed,” Kelly said, according to Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press. “We’re about to have our fourth child and I personally do not want to live on a lake or have a pool with four children under the age of a little over 3. So that is the reason that it’s on the market. ...

“It makes us super sad (to sell our home). That house has been incredible. We’ll never have another house like it. So it is a super sad thing, but it just makes us feel better knowing that there’s no real dangers of having tiny ones running around all the bodies of water, so that is the reason.”

While Stafford's wife says there's no speculation needed, there still will be people wondering why they would sell their beautiful house. Also, why all of a sudden would they want to move with their fourth child on the way? Three children already is a handful ... why wouldn't they move a couple of years ago?

It's definitely worth speculating, especially considering the Lions may be in for a shakeup over the next few years if they don't perform well in 2020 ... and that would include a change a quarterback.

Although Detroit didn't draft a quarterback with their third overall selection in the 2020 draft, they'll likely have the opportunity to land a high-rated QB in next year's draft. For now, things are leaning toward Stafford being the Lions QB in 2020, but there are no 2021 guarantees.
