Could the New York Giants bring in a tandem of Bill Belichick and Dak Prescott?

It sounds rather outlandish given everything that would need to occur for that to happen, but Fox Sports analyst Nick Wright proposed the idea this week.

The Giants own the sixth overall pick in the NFL Draft this week, but their strategy remains a mystery.

New York needs a quarterback, but some feel that the Giants will actually end up taking a wide receiver with the selection. Others think that they will trade up to secure one of the very top quarterback prospects in the draft.

Wright has a simpler solution: play things out with Daniel Jones for one more year, utilize the out in his contract after next season and then sign Prescott in free agency. New York could then also part ways Brian Daboll and bring in Belichick as head coach.

So could Prescott actually join the Giants?

Prescott is entering the final year of his deal with the Dallas Cowboys, but the Cowboys seem rather comfortable allowing him to hit free agency next March. Prescott is reportedly asking for $60 million annually, and Dallas seems to be banking on the fact that no team will offer him that on the open market. That would allow the Cowboys to bring him back at a more economical price.

But if Dallas sees Prescott about to ink a deal with the division-rival Giants, would it step in last minute?

Also, would Belichick be interested in taking the Giants job at this stage? Obviously, adding Prescott would make New York a more attractive destination, and Belichick did serve as an assistant coach for Big Blue for over a decade between 1979 and 1990.

The idea of the Giants being able to land both Dak Prescott and Bill Belichick seems rather unrealistic, but I guess nothing is impossible.
