The NFL is a business, as we all know. Even teams like the Las Vegas Raiders treat it that way when it comes to the player's perspective of trading and cutting guys. Sure, the Raiders are more sensitive to it than other teams, as they have a great alum program. However, it's pretty dark how it all works.

And it's that way for coaches, too. The NFL is one of the biggest businesses in the U.S. and one of the leagues in America that always seems to adapt and change, no matter how harsh things may seem.

It would appear that head coach Antonio Pierce recognizes that as well, as he had a quote about his time in the league where he kept it about as real as it gets.

"This is a temporary seat. I am not a fool," Antonio Pierce said. "I got hired, and I'm going to get fired. But the one thing they are not to going to change about me is who I am. How I talk, how I walk, how I act. I don't mince my words or bite my tongue."

Pierce was hired as the interim head coach in Week 9 of the 20234 season after Josh McDaniels was fired. That is exactly how Pierce knows he could be in the same boat if things don't go as they should. Pierce knows that he is on a clock and doesn't know how much time he has, but he knows his time could be up at any moment as the head coach of the Las Vegas Raiders.

Luckily for Pierce, he has put together a pretty solid staff around him. Usually, that's what you need to do when you are a rookie head coach, and Pierce won't have a problem getting advice on his staff from experienced, veteran guys around him. Pierce seems to have some of it figured out so far, though, and he will keep it real at all times.
