The New Orleans Saints are getting a makeover on their offensive staff. Of course, San Francisco 49ers passing game coordinator Klint Kubiak is expected to become their next offensive coordinator.

Plenty of coaches have moved on amid the staff changes since Pete Carmichael Jr.'s departure. According to Ross Jackson, tight ends coach Clancy Barone is not going anywhere, though.

Wide receivers coach Kodi Burns, OL coach Doug Marrone and Joel Thomas, New Orleans' running backs coach, took the same position with the New York Giants. Those three won't be back with New Orleans next season.

Barone will be back, though, and it is the right move for New Orleans.

He's a well-respected, experienced coach on that side of the ball. He spent time under Gary Kubiak with the Denver Broncos and coached alongside Klint in 2016.

Barone joined the staff prior to last season and helped develop Juwan Johnson into a key contributor on the Saints offense. Additionally, utility weapon Taysom Hill has spent time with the tight ends in recent offseasons, so keeping the coach in charge of his positional shifts is major.

The Saints tight end room showed legitimate growth and balance in 2023, so keeping Barone in the cards is a smart move. He's a more proven option that many coaches around the league at that spot.

With the latest news of Ronald Curry moving on from New Orleans, Barone will be the only returning member of the Saints' 2023 offensive staff. His continuity can bring a bit of strength to a roster with plenty of veterans, especially at tight end.
