Tom Brady agrees that taunting penalties are ruining the game
NFL fans don't agree on much, but one thing they see eye to eye on is the league's new taunting rule.
The NFL's competition committee decided taunting should be an emphasis from officiating crews entering the 2021 season, and several players have already been flagged for the violation, which results in a 15-yard penalty.
With minor things flagged for taunting over the last two weeks, NFL fans are continuing to voice their displeasure with the new rule. However, they aren't the only ones.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady responded to an Instagram post that said the league's new taunting rule "stinks" and that it's "ruining the game."
His response? "AGREE!"
The Buccaneers were hit with a taunting penalty in Sunday's 48-25 win over the Atlanta Falcons after Mike Edwards scored a touchdown on a pick-six against Matt Ryan.
With both fans and players expressing frustration over the new rule, it'll be interesting to see if the NFL tells officiating crews to turn back the dial entering Week 3.
