There is no denying that the Buffalo Bills' offense under Joe Brady in 2025 is going to be one of the best in football, largely thanks to Josh Allen.
But looking at the unit overall, the offensive line is one of the better units in football, so too the run game with James Cook, who is coming off a 16-touchdown regular season, but the receiver room is where some have questions.
Again, without a genuine No. 1 weapon, Allen will be relying on the likes of Khalil Shakir, Keon Coleman, Joshua Palmer, and Dalton Kincaid to get it done through the air.
Which is fine, as last year Allen showed he could get it done without a star wide out, and for ESPN's Mina Kimes, if she had to find something on the offense to fix, it would be to add one element.
“It's really interesting, I laughed at Brandon Beane kind of getting a little bit riled up about the not adding the number one receiver," Kimes said on One Bills Live. "But fundamentally, I agree with him.
“I wish that they had a little bit more speed. I mentioned this on NFL Live, Josh Allen's splits were worse versus man coverage than zone. The Bills faced a lot of man coverage. I wish they had a man-beater. That's not a Josh Allen stat, that's about the pass catchers.”
A genuine speed merchant is something Buffalo lacks.
Shakir and Coleman aren't speed burners, but Palmer has shown he can get downfield in a hurry if needed, so maybe he is going to be the field-stretcher that Brady and Allen will utilize.
Is that enough? Buffalo seemed just fine without a deep threat last year, averaging over 30 points per game, so maybe the offense can replicate that with a little Palmer speed thrown in.
Many are again concerned with the Bills' receiver room entering the season, but if last year is anything to go by, Brady and Allen will find a way to make it work.
