Analyst claims AFC East team could trade for Justin Fields

Justin Fields entered the 2024 NFL offseason as one of the biggest storylines. The Chicago Bears quarterback's future remains up in the air, especially after his team secured the No. 1 overall pick in the upcoming NFL Draft.

While teams like the Atlanta Falcons and Pittsburgh Steelers are considered potential landing spots for Fields, others could make a run for his services.

NFL analyst Daniel Jeremiah recently named one AFC East franchise that could lure Fields away from Soldier Field.

"I know a lot of people have been talking about Pittsburgh, it's been a fit there. Sending him back home to Atlanta, where he grew up. I don't feel like we're talking much about New England [Patriots]," Jeremiah told Rich Eisen while discussing why the Patriots would draft out of the No. 3 position.

The analyst explains that the situation in New England is very appealing for Fields. They have a new head coach after parting ways with Bill Belichick and Fields seems like the best option to kick off Jerod Mayo's era in Foxborough.

"When I look at it, [they have a] defensive coach, who I think appreciates having a team that can run the ball, an athletic quarterback and will play this style of football. ...His fit there makes some sense," he added.

Jeremiah adds that the Patriots can use the No. 3 overall pick to bring the help Fields needs to succeed at Gillette Stadium.

This hasn't been talked about as much as Fields going to Atlanta or Pittsburgh, but considering how the Patriots are built and the fresh expectations around them, they look like a pretty good landing spot for Fields.

With Caleb Williams being the clear-cut favorite to be the No. 1 overall pick in the upcoming 2024 NFL Draft, it makes so much sense for the Bears to part with Fields and focus on the USC standout.

However, nothing is confirmed yet and the Bears could also trade the No. 1 pick away and continue building around the Ohio State product.
