Not so long ago, Stefon Diggs was considered one of the most impactful pass catchers in the National Football League.
Father Time is ruthless, and given his history of distractions off the field, he may have burned some bridges to other teams.
However, he's arguably the best wide receiver still available in free agency, and with OTAs and minicamp in the rearview mirror, some teams might be tempted to give him a look.
Considering that, CBS Sports' John Breech believes it's just a matter of time before he gets a new deal, with two Super Bowl contenders and one playoff hopeful as his likeliest landing spots.
First, Breech named Diggs' hometown team Washington Commanders, as they still need someone to line up opposite Terry McLaurin after letting Deebo Samuel walk.
"The Commanders could use another wide receiver," Breech wrote. "Diggs is also a DMV man and played his high school ball 13 miles north of Washington D.C. before starring at the University of Maryland."
The other team in the Maryland area could also use an experienced chain-mover, and with the Baltimore Ravens' history of rolling the dice on older pass-catchers, he'd also be a seamless fit there.
"We can keep with the Maryland theme here and talk about the Baltimore Ravens, who have been a favorite landing spot for several notable veteran wideouts such as DeAndre Hopkins, Odell Beckham Jr. and DeSean Jackson," Breech noted.
Last but not least, he listed the Los Angeles Rams, a team that has already shown that it's willing to go the extra mile to get back to the final game of the season.
"The Rams had the No. 1 offense in the league last year with MVP quarterback Matthew Stafford and star wideouts Puka Nacua and Davante Adams," Breech wrote. "Despite that talented room, the Rams showed interest in A.J. Brown earlier this offseason, so they could still be in the market for a new weapon."
Of course, expecting Diggs to be the same 100-catch, 1200-yard guy he was in his heyday isn't realistic at this point, even coming off a 1,000-yard season.
That said, he can still be a productive contributor to a contending team, as he showed by helping the New England Patriots reach the Super Bowl last season.
