Analyst says Commanders are Super Bowl material if one giant domino falls

The changed perceptions around the Washington Commanders are staggering. Just two years ago, they were a toxic environment nobody would touch. Now, they are the NFL's new darling and a leading contender to reach the Super Bowl in 2025.

It's been a meteoric rise back to prominence. Fans are expectant, and one analyst believes that the additions made throughout another busy offseason put the Commanders in a better spot to dethrone the Philadelphia Eagles next season.

Adam Peters recognized the opportunity in front of him. The general manager was more aggressive, swinging for the fences in free agency and the trade market for proven performers with plenty of good football left. More importantly, they look tailor-made for the locker room culture renaissance implemented by head coach Dan Quinn.

Bucky Brooks believes Commanders can win the Super Bowl by clinching NFC's No. 1 seed

Couple this with the quality already on the books and another decent draft haul, and it's not hard to see why optimism is so high. Bucky Brooks from NFL.com believes the Commanders are primed for another deep postseason run. The analyst also thought winning it all was well within their capabilities if everything went according to plan.

It’s hard to improve from good to great in the NFL, but the Commanders might join the league’s elites with an improved roster that features more blue-chip players around 2024 Offensive Rookie of the Year Jayden Daniels. The Commanders are built to run through the NFC with a superstar quarterback surrounded by a stellar supporting cast. If Washington can secure the NFC’s No. 1 seed, we could see a championship parade in the nation’s capital come February.Bucky Brooks

This is the stuff of fairytales. Nobody expected the Commanders to rise so quickly after decades of languishing in disgrace. It's a testament to the hard work Quinn and Peters have put in to get this organization on the right track. And of course, having a legitimate franchise quarterback in Jayden Daniels doesn't hurt either.

There are potential concerns that could hold them back. Washington's offensive line must cope effectively without stud right guard Sam Cosmi. The Commanders don't have enough explosive pass-rushers right now. Veteran cornerback Marshon Lattimore's return to form is also paramount, and the rushing attack must be more consistent through the entire campaign rather than starting well and fading.

The Commanders are riding on the crest of a wave. They have the right blend of experience and youthful exuberance across the squad. They have the same coaching staff and the same schemes in place, which provides an essential sense of familiarity. Everything is in place.

It'll be more difficult, there's no getting away from that. But don't be surprised to see the Commanders right in the thick of things once again in 2025.
