No matter where he goes, Andy Dalton just can't shake the Bengals.
The New Orleans Saints quarterback will get a third crack at the team that drafted him when New Orleans hosts Cincinnati this Sunday.
Dalton has started the past two games for New Orleans, going 1-1.
Dalton was the starting QB for the Bengals from 2011-2019, and they've been a constant presence in his NFL career. He played against the Bengals in 2020 as a member of the Dallas Cowboys and in 2021 as a member of the Chicago Bears. He is 2-0, going 25-of-34 for 241 yards and three touchdowns vs. his former team.
He would have even bigger numbers if not for suffering a knee bruise in last year's win. He was 9-of-11 for 56 yards and a touchdown before exiting.
Dalton joined the Saints in the offseason as an insurance policy after they trudged through a 4-6 record following Jameis Winston's ACL tear in Week 8 against Tampa Bay a season ago. With Winston (ankle, back) out for a third week in a row, Dalton will look to pick up where things left off against the Seahawks. The team scored 39 points in the Week 5 win, its most since December 2020.
The Saints and Dalton hope to keep the good times rolling against more than a few familiar faces.
