The Kansas City Chiefs finished the season with a 6-11 record, the worst in the Patrick Mahomes era, and they're now looking at a massive overhaul in the offseason.
Notably, plenty of that might have to do with Travis Kelce's retirement, as he's reportedly going to consider walking away from the game.
That's why head coach Andy Reid had to let everybody know that even he doesn't know what his star tight end will do, per Charles Goldman of A to Z Sports.
"We'll get to all that. Right now, you've got a little bit of time before all that stuff needs to take place. That's what's real right now. I know everybody wants an answer right this minute. We all love Trav. Trav can still play. I just know there's time," Reid said, per Goldman.
Kelce had already said that he would take his time after the season to make a decision, but he also claimed that he would let the team know beforehand so they can plan accordingly.
He just became the sixth tight end in NFL history to log at least 13,000 receiving yards, and he holds the records for the most postseason receptions (172) and Super Bowl receptions (35).
Kelce might no longer be at the top of his game, but he can still perform at a superlative level, and his decision will shape plenty of the Chiefs' offseason.
