The Kansas City Chiefs have their backs against the wall in the latter half of the NFL season.
While the Chiefs were widely regarded as one of the top teams in the NFL heading into the season, struggles have put Kansas City in a deep hole when it comes to the playoff race.
The Chiefs are set to play the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 15. A loss to the Chargers would virtually eliminate Kansas City from making the postseason. They're heading into the game with a 6-7 record.
While the Chiefs have had struggles on all three phases of the football field this season, they have also been plagued by injuries.
Heading into Week 15, the Chiefs will be without starting offensive lineman Trey Smith. The top offensive lineman serves as a vital piece to Kansas City's pass protection, but Andy Reid mentioned that he's still a ways from returning.
Smith is in line to miss his third straight game after entering last match-up as "doubtful."
He has officially been ruled out of the game against the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 15.

He says that Trey Smith is just not ready: "I don't think he's quite there."
The Kansas City Chiefs will now be playing without several major contributors on the offensive line. As they were monitoring the injury of Tret Smith, the Chiefs ruled out Wanya Morris and Jawaan Taylor, both of whom are starters for Kansas City.
Patrick Mahomes will now be playing without his top protection in the Los Angeles Chargers Week 15 game, having to win the matchup to stay in the playoff race.
