The Kansas City Chiefs looked to make history with a third straight Super Bowl title this season, but they were stopped in their tracks by the Philadelphia Eagles.

The Eagles' 40-22 win over Kansas City in the Super Bowl has produced several questions about the Chiefs' future. Travis Kelce is the most notable question mark, as the team is still waiting to find out if the All-Pro tight end will return for another season.

The Chiefs came up short in their bid for a three-peat, but they should be among the NFL's contenders next year with perennial MVP candidate Patrick Mahomes at quarterback and Andy Reid at head coach.

Reid recently announced two changes to his coaching staff for 2025, and the moves could help address some of the issues they faced in the Super Bowl.

On Monday, the Chiefs announced that they have hired Matt House as a senior defensive assistant, and that Chris Orr has been hired as the team's defensive quality control coach.

House has over 20 years of coaching experience in college and the NFL, and this will be his second stint with the Chiefs. He worked in Kansas City as a linebackers coach from 2019 through 2021, earning a Super Bowl ring after the team's win over the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl LIV.

House has also been a defensive coordinator for the Pitt Panthers, FIU Panthers, Kentucky Wildcats and LSU Tigers.

Orr played linebacker at Wisconsin before entering the league as an undrafted free agent in 2020. After spending one season with the Carolina Panthers, he played in the USFL and later the UFL with the New Jersey Generals and Birmingham Stallions, respectively.

He spent the 2024 season at Jackson State as a linebackers coach, and will join the Kansas City staff for the new year.

The Eagles were able to respond to their Super Bowl loss with a win two years later. We've also seen the Chiefs bounce back in a similar way, winning Super Bowl 57 after losing to the Buccaneers in Super Bowl 55.

We'll see what's in store for Kansas City after their two new additions to Andy Reid's coaching staff this week.
