The Kansas City Chiefs dropped to 5-5 with a 22-19 loss to the Denver Broncos.
The Chiefs had the lead in the fourth quarter before Wil Lutz hit a game-tying field goal and then the game-winner to give the Broncos their ninth win of the season.
The Chiefs suddenly face an uphill climb to get into the playoff picture, and the hope of an AFC West title looks dim with the Broncos and Los Angeles Chargers (7-4) both ahead of them in the standings.
After the loss, Patrick Mahomes took the blame for the struggles.
“We’ve got to get more consistent, and I think that starts with me,” the Chiefs quarterback said.
On Monday, head coach Andy Reid didn't hesitate to blame the entire team for the poor performance, via Charles Goldman of A to Z Sports.
"You've got to take care of the small things," Reid said. "Why are we having the penalties? Then, let's fix that. Don't point to the officials. Don't point here or there. Take responsibility for it... all those things you control... small things, but they all add up."

Reid wants his team to take responsibility, especially after two close losses against the Buffalo Bills and the Broncos.
The Chiefs had 311 total yards and had more first downs and a greater time of possession than the Broncos, but they still came out on the losing end.
At this point, something needs to change for Kansas City, and the hope is that things begin to turn around in Week 12 against the Indianapolis Colts. The Chiefs host the Colts at 1 p.m. ET Sunday on CBS.
