Andy Reid had hilarious response to news of Chiefs' 2023 trip to Germany

On Thursday, the NFL announced that five teams, including the Kansas City Chiefs, would play international games next season.

Upon learning that the Chiefs would be making a trip to Germany, head coach Andy Reid responded to the news as only he could.

"I'm looking forward to getting a bratwurst," Reid told reporters

Famous for his love of cheeseburgers and practically all things food, Reid's immediate reaction to the Chiefs' trip shouldn't come as a surprise. After all, almost a year ago, Reid compared winning the Super Bowl to a piece of chocolate cake.

After a few laughs, Reid quickly got serious, explaining that the overseas trip wasn't a focus, especially with Saturday's divisional-round tilt against the Jacksonville Jaguars only days away.

Reid will match up against his former player and assistant, Doug Pederson, who has rejuvenated the Jags into an unlikely contender. Reid has been victorious in both meetings versus a Pederson-coached team, but this will be their first matchup in the postseason.

The Chiefs knocked off the Jaguars, 27-17, in Week 10. The loss dropped Jacksonville to 3-7 on the year. Since then, the Jags have won seven of eight, including a historic 31-30 come-from-behind victory over the Los Angeles Chargers in the wild-card round last week.

Reid has noticed the Jaguars' rise, saying the players have "bought in" under Pederson.

"They've improved every week," Reid said. "Doug's done a great job, as his coaches have. It takes everybody."
