The Kansas City Chiefs will be without third-year wide receiver Rashee Rice for the first six games of the 2025 NFL season.
This comes after Rice was handed a six-game suspension for violating the NFL's personal conduct policy, stemming from a high-speed crash in Dallas last year.
He will be left out of several key games for Kansas City, including its season opener against the Los Angeles Chargers in Sao Paulo, Brazil, on Friday.
On Thursday, while talking to reporters, head coach Andy Reid revealed that Rice won't be with the team for a considerable amount of time while serving the suspension.
"He's away from the team now for a few weeks," Reid said, according to Charles Goldman of A to Z Sports. "We've got good players at that position that I know will step up, work hard, and do a good job in there."

However, this doesn't come as a major surprise, because NFL.com's Grant Gordon reported that after being handed his suspension, Rice was prohibited from attending the Chiefs' practices.
It's an unfortunate situation all around, but luckily for the wide receiver, this is his third year in Reid's offense, meaning he already has a strong grasp of the scheme and his responsibilities.
Either way, though, six games is no joke, and Rice is set to be left out of some of Kansas City's biggest matchups of the year, including:
Rice will officially become eligible for reinstatement on Oct. 13, meaning he can return to practice and participate in the Chiefs' Week 7 home game against the Las Vegas Raiders.
There's no doubt he could come in and make an immediate impact for Reid and quarterback Patrick Mahomes.
However, after missing six games to start the season and only appearing in four last year because of a knee injury, he could be a bit rusty.
