The Kansas City Chiefs are hoping to secure a fourth straight Super Bowl appearance next season but face the challenge of simply assembling a team as good as the previous three. They may have hit a stroke of good luck on the injury front though.
Speaking to reporters this week, Chiefs head coach Andy Reid announced that injured wide receiver Rashee Rice along with rookie first-round offensive tackle Josh Simmons will be participants at the start of Chiefs training camp. Both players have been dealing with knee injuries and have been restricted in recent camps and training routines.
"Good news from #Chiefs coach Andy Reid with minicamp set to wrap up: He expects both first-round OT Josh Simmons (knee) and WR Rashee Rice (knee) to be full participants at the start of training camp," Rapoport wrote.

Simmons earned All-Big Ten honors as a senior at Ohio State and was a starter on the Buckeyes' national championship season for the first half of the season before suffering a torn patellar tendon. The injury didn't keep the Chiefs from drafting him 32nd overall in April.
Rice was the Chiefs' second-round pick in the 2023 NFL Draft and had a promising rookie season, making 79 receptions for 938 yards and seven touchdowns in 2023 as the team won the Super Bowl. He was sixth in the Rookie of the Year voting. But he was limited to just four games last year.
Rice has also been dealing with legal troubles that have a lot of people critical of both him and the Chiefs.
NFL fans were far more concerned about Simmons being ready to go than Rice since Simmons was such a star before he got hurt last season.
"The Simmons news is sneakily big. If the Chiefs could have him ready ASAP, wouldn’t rule him out starting even in Week 1 — whether at LT or LG."
"I really hate that the NFL let Josh Simmons get to the Chiefs and he may be potentially ready to start the season."
"A fully healthy Josh Simmons is a HUGE addition to this offense. Best OT in the 2025 class, and it's not really close."
Which of the two do you think will be more impactful for Kansas City this year?
