Anonymous personnel coach: Cowboys WR CeeDee Lamb 'might get 200 targets the way things are shaping up'

The Dallas Cowboys traded away four-time Pro Bowler Amari Cooper to the Cleveland Browns in March. Michael Gallup is currently the No. 2 wide receiver on Dallas' depth chart but is coming back from a torn ACL suffered at the end of last season.

Newcomer James Washington is also currently on the shelf, after going down with a Jones fracture in his foot earlier in August.

Already fresh off of a big sophomore season that resulted in his first Pro Bowl honor, Cowboys No. 1 wideout CeeDee Lamb now has even more elevated expectations.

"He might get 200 targets the way things are shaping up," an AFC personnel man said.

Coming on the heels of Monday's top 100 player rankings for 2022, ESPN conducted an "audit" of the list, asking executives and coaches to answer a handful of questions related to the rankings. One of the questions was "Which players will break out in 2022?"

Miami Dolphins safety Jevon Holland was a common response, as was Lamb, who was ranked 32nd on the top 100 list. The 23-year-old aerial weapon led Dallas in targets (120), receptions (79) and receiving yards (1,102), while tying for second on the club in receiving touchdowns as well with six.
