Coach Joe Brady’s Buffalo Bills headed to Los Angeles to face Matthew Stafford’s Rams and got a big James Cook touchdown run that showcased his amazing speed. Cook’s team held a five-point lead late in the third quarter as a key Bills offensive lineman went down with an injury.

The fumble was an egregious one as Cook ended up a few yards past where the ball was knocked out of his hand and turned backward in a futile attempt to recover it.

The Bills got the ball back after a ruling that had social media readers perplexed, considering that the Rams appeared to recover it. Fans also took Cook to task for the fumble even though the Bills didn’t lose possession.

“There’s your James Cook fumble for the evening. Always good for one or two of those a game. You’d think he’d figure out a way to secure the ball that works for him after this many years,” one fan said.

“It’s getting to the point where I don’t think I’ve seen one game where James Cook doesn’t fumble the ball one time,” another said.

It was Cook’s third fumble in five games and it came at a crucial time in the game, but the Bills were awarded possession and kept moving forward.

“Death, taxes, and I say with love, a James Cook fumble,” another said about the supposed inevitabilities of life.

“Perfect timing for the James Cook disaster fumble,” another said.

The Bills played without star WR DJ Moore, but still led 19-14 in the fourth quarter with the Rams deep in Bills territory. The Rams scored on a two-yard pass to Puca Nacua that gave them a 20-19 lead with just over 14 minutes to play and Bills fans fuming.
