Although the Thanksgiving day game hasn’t  gone according to plan for the Chicago Bears against the Detroit Lions, a lone bright spot was created by rookie quarterback Caleb Williams. With a 31-yard touchdown pass to WR Keenan Allen, Williams set the new franchise record for passing touchdowns by a rookie with 12.

Williams set the franchise record for rookie passing yards in the Bears’ 30-27 loss to the Minnesota Vikings just days prior. Now with 12 passing touchdowns, Williams owns the touchdown record as well.

The first overall pick appears to be a bright spot for the franchise’s future. Although the 2024 season hasn’t gone well for Chicago, Williams brings a breath of fresh air into the city.

After the milestone touchdown, Williams connected with Keenan Allen again for his 13th passing touchdown, adding to his record.

By the end of the season, Williams will have a strong hold on all the rookie passing records. However, the milestones are worth celebrating for a franchise that is desperate for a franchise signal caller.
