The Las Vegas Raiders finally found their offensive coordinator for the 2024 season, and while a lot of fans aren't happy about it, it would appear that Antonio Pierce, the new full-time head coach, is.
Fans are upset because Getsy's passing offense was near the bottom of the league everywhere in Chicago. That's certainly something to be upset about when you have a guy like Davante Adams on your team, who is one of the best wide receivers in the league.
But he has had the best, or one of the best, rushing attacks in the last two years as well. However, a lot of that can be attributed to having Justin Fields, a running QB. Based on some advanced analytics, Getsy was the 27th-ranked play-caller last season. There certainly are reasons to be upset about this hire.

Exhibit A of why I think Mike McDaniel should be COY.
Ben Johnson is a hot head coaching candidate for a reason.

However, Pierce made a great point when asked about the new hire.
"He whupped our ass when we played them (the Bears)," Pierce said on Radio Row this week. "Who was their QB? I don't know. Who was their RB? I don't know. But they still beat us pretty good."

They lost to the Chicago Bears 30-12, and some of that came in garbage time. The Bears beat down the Raiders, although the one thing you could rebuttal to Pierce is that he wasn't the head coach at the time. I believe that if he was, they would have won.
The Raiders believe that it wasn't Getsy that was the issue in Chicago. And Getsy believes it was Fields. So, in a way, this also completely rules out the Raiders trading for Justin Field, which has been a thing Raiders fans have wanted for some time now. Either way, Pierce feels confident in what they are bringing to the table in 2024.
