Are the Ravens the scariest team in the NFL?

Throughout the years, the Baltimore Ravens have been one of the top contending teams in the NFL. The front office has always given Baltimore a solid group of players, and this year is no exception.

With the addition of Derrick Henry in the backfield, an experienced coach and arguably the scariest dual threat quarterback of all time at the helm, the Ravens are right back in Super Bowl conversations.

The main issue seems to come with inconsistency on the defensive side for Baltimore. Having a first-year defensive coordinator in Zach Orr, who is only 32 years old and the second-youngest DC in the league, could serve as the reason for these miscommunications.

After starting the season 0-2, the Ravens have surged back with three key victories over the Cowboys, Bengals and at the previously undefeated Bills.

Two of those wins did not come easy. The Ravens nearly squandered a big lead against the Cowboys before holding on for the victory and the team managed to beat the Bengals despite surrendering 38 points. It was a shootout for the ages, with both Lamar Jackson and Joe Burrow playing near perfect in Sunday's game.

The Ravens offense scorched the Bengals defense nearly all game and vice versa. The difference in the game is what makes Baltimore such a threat to other teams.

With Henry in the backfield, clutch kicker Justin Tucker and "Lamarvelous" Jackson as captain in charge, the Ravens can keep pace with any team in the league regardless of how the defense is playing. Jackson making plays like the one below is certainly a scary proposition for opponents.

The question will be whether the defense will come around as it usually does in Baltimore. Defensive captain Roquan Smith is up to the challenge of instilling that gritty, bully-ball, physical style of play that other NFL teams have become used to when playing Baltimore.

If the Ravens can figure out the issues on the defensive side of things, they could truly be the scariest team in the league.
