Arizona Cardinals Agree to Terms With WR Marvin Harrison Jr.
Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

The Arizona Cardinals made a big splash in the 2024 NFL Draft. They did this by drafting star wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. He was one of the most highly anticipated players in this year’s draft and was viewed as one of the best overall players available.

Once Harrison was drafted, it was only a matter of agreeing to official terms. Now, reports reveal that the Cardinals and Harrison have done exactly this. Read below to find out what those terms are.

Marvin Harrison Jr. to Receive $35.37 Million Over Four Years

According to Ari Meirov of The 33rd Team, the Arizona Cardinals and Marvin Harrison Jr. have agreed to a four-year deal. Harrison will receive $35.37 million through the course of this deal. On top of this, Harrison will receive a signing bonus that is worth over $22 million. All of this money will be guaranteed for Harrison.

What the Arizona Cardinals Get

The Arizona Cardinals are getting arguably the top wide receiver from this year’s college football class. Harrison made a name for himself at Ohio State. What did he do during his tenure there? Harrison had 155 receptions, 2,613 receiving yards, and 31 touchdown receptions over three years.

There is also one more worthy thing to note about Harrison. His father was a very successful wide receiver in the NFL.

Marvin Harrison Sr. spent his entire NFL career with the Indianapolis Colts from 1996-2008. For the majority of his career, he had Peyton Manning throwing him the football. This led to one of the most lethal QB/WR combinations in the NFL. As a result, Marvin Harrison Sr. is now in the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

Arizona Cardinals Moving Forward

Given the above information, many people will likely have high expectations for Marvin Harrison Jr. When your father is in the Pro Football Hall of Fame, you certainly have a lot to live up to.

Luckily, Harrison is not walking into a terrible situation. He will have Kyler Murray throwing him the football to start his NFL career.

Last season, Murray was still recovering from a torn ACL injury. As a result, he missed about half of the 2023 season. However, with nearly 1,800 passing yards and 10 touchdown passes in eight games, the Cardinals appear to be optimistic that Murray and Harrison can help them take a step forward this upcoming season.
