Arizona Cardinals Grade Out Well After 2024 NFL Draft
Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

With the dust settled from the 2024 NFL Draft, the Arizona Cardinals recently received a good grade from Pro Football Focus for their weekend.

As we have had some time to digest the 2024 NFL Draft, the Cardinals were among the intriguing teams in the top 5. With everyone starving for quarterbacks, the Cardinals were a team that certainly fielded some calls about teams looking to move up.

However, the Cardinals stayed pat at No. 4 and started their draft off by taking one of the best players in the class, wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. out of Ohio State. As the son of one of the greats at the position, Harrison has been living up to the hype and was a great addition to the Cardinals’ offense.

While getting Harrison in the first round was a great pick-up, the Cardinals also added EDGE defender Darius Robinson out of Missouri at the end of the first round with the 27th overall pick. Robinson might have been a bit of a reach at this spot, but he is good against the run and the pass as a lineman, and the Cardinals needed help in both of those areas.

The Cardinals went back to offense in the third round, as they selected running back Trey Benson from Florida State. This was a pick that PFF loved, as Benson was highly rated by them for his performance last season.

The draft was certainly a busy three days for the rebuilding Cardinals, as they ended up making 12 selections. Overall, the Cardinals received a grade of a B+ from PFF, as the selection of many people’s No. 1 overall prospect in Harrison Jr. likely helped them get that grade.

While this draft likely won’t turn the Cardinals into a contender for the 2024 season, it is a good step in the right direction for a franchise that is rebuilding.
