GLENDALE – Before the Dam opens on the entire NFL schedule, leaks are spurting out around the league on many season openers. The Arizona Cardinals are one of those teams, with Nick Underhill of New Orleans Football reporting that the team’s season opener will be on the road against the New Orleans Saints.

Arizona hasn’t played New Orleans since 2022 and the Superdome in six years. The two franchises have faced off 32 times, with the all-time series tied at 16-16. The Saints are coming off a disappointing 5-12 season, after starting last year 2-0.
After Derek Carr’s retirement, New Orleans will lean on two Arizona natives to take the mantle of starting quarterback. Spencer Rattler played football in Phoenix at Pinnacle, while rookie Tyler Shough dominated at Hamilton High School in Chandler. Neither will be able to play in front of their hometown but will take the opportunity to try and beat their childhood team.
The Cardinals haven’t won a season opener since 2o21 against the Tennessee Titans. However, after a massive offseason, the team looks to change their luck and break that streak against the Saints to start the 2025 season.
