TEMPE — Arizona State will pack its bags for El Paso to play in the 2025 Sun Bowl, aiming to close the season on a high note.
According to On3Sports’ Brett McMurphy, the Sun Devils’ opponent remains undecided. ASU is slated to face an ACC team, but the matchup will be finalized after the conference’s championship game on Saturday.
ASU’s season didn’t end the way the program had hoped and the bowl trip carries emotional weight for the team. After a year marked by highs and lows, the Sun Devils see the Sun Bowl as a chance to finish strong. It may not be the Big 12 title they once chased, but it’s an opportunity to add one more win to a turbulent season.
The Sun Bowl is also expected to showcase several NFL prospects, as fans and scouts turn to bowl games to evaluate emerging talent. Strong postseason performances could influence potential prospects from possibly joining the program in the future.
As Arizona State awaits its opponent, the team hopes to close a wild season with one more win.
The Sun Bowl will be played on Dec. 31, 2025.
