Back on July 2, Nick Wagoner of ESPN explained how an artist named Rita Carvalho vowed to draw depictions of San Francisco 49ers quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo each day until he was traded (or presumably released) after he had been unofficially and, later, officially replaced atop the club's depth chart by 2021 rookie Trey Lance:

The situation shockingly changed Monday, however, when it was learned that Garoppolo accepted a pay cut to remain with the 49ers and serve as Lance's backup through at least the start of the upcoming season.
As Jaclyn Hendricks noted for the New York Post, Carvalho fittingly responded to the news by comparing the development to the famous "Wolf of Wall Street" movie scene that features Jordan Belfort, played by Leonardo DiCaprio, declaring he's not leaving his firm, Stratton Oakmont.

Carvalho then continued the gimmick through Wednesday:

"I think people were expecting a response on whether I would continue to draw Jimmy or not," Carvalho told Richard Morin of USA Today. "So today’s drawing was my way of saying that the Jimmy G series is not over yet and I’ll continue to draw him every day, as long as it makes sense for me."
Truth be told, Carvalho has legitimate reasons to continue "drawing Jimmy G every day until he gets traded." After all, 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan admitted on Tuesday that the 30-year-old's revised deal could make him easier to ship to a would-be buyer before the fall trade deadline arrives.
