ASU Baseball just saw their season end a month ago after an early exit from the Pac-12 Tournament, but the Sun Devils are already actively recruiting after securing two transfers.
On X (formerly Twitter), the Sun Devils revealed that UTSA shortstop Matt King signed and sealed his transfer to Arizona State as well as Louisville pitcher Will Koger announcing his move to Tempe.

King played the past three seasons (2021-23) at UTSA in which he had a .304 average, four home runs and 180 hits. Last season, the 6-foot-1, 194-pound shortstop boasted a career-high average of .336, drove home 41 RBIs and mustered 74 hits in 55 games. He also improved in fielding as well in his junior year, having just seven errors compared to 18 in 2021 and 13 in 2022.
Koger is coming off a year where he struggled and will look to turn those fortunes around with the Sun Devils. The Kentucky native owned an 11.25 ERA through 13 appearances and pitched 16 innings for Louisville, had a 1-3 record, and recorded 10 strikeouts and 12 walks. Opposing offenses batted .382 against Koger.
What is promising about Koger is that he had a respectable season in 2023 and joins ASU who can further develop his game to another level. The reliever posted a 4.81 ERA, 25 strikeouts, 16 walks and allowed 24 hits in 16 appearances. During his time with the Cardinals, Koger allowed 24-26 hits a season, but his freshman and junior years were when he saw his ERA over 10.
King and Koger are the most recent transfers to come into ASU during the early stages of the offseason. Campbell RHP Chance Daquila also made the switch to Arizona State since the Sun Devils went 0-2 in the Pac-12 Tournament and ended 32-26 this year.
