ASU QB Sam Leavitt makes a generous donation to the Pat Tillman Foundation

The foundation, created in honor of former Sun Devil and Arizona Cardinals safety Pat Tilman, empowers veterans and their spouses through academic scholarships, leadership development, and a national network of support. Tillman left a promising NFL career to enlist in the U.S. Army after 9/11 and was killed in Afghanistan.

“We’re so incredibly grateful to Sam Leavitt for his donation,” the Pat Tillman Foundation said in a post on X. “This donation will help empower present and future Tillman Scholars as they pursue a higher education degree.”

Leavitt, a now sophomore who is the starting quarterback for the Sun Devils, transferred to ASU from Michigan State and quickly emerged as a team leader both on and off the field. His donation highlights a growing culture within the Sun Devils program that emphasizes community impact and honoring those who have paved the way.
