Atlanta Falcons QB Kirk Cousins gives fans another unique perspective that could shed light on controversial decision

When Atlanta Falcons quarterback Kirk Cousins decided to leave the Minnesota Vikings after the 2023 season because he wanted to be considered the guy. The Vikings told him they were going to be drafting a quarterback in the 2024 NFL Draft. What he didn't expect was the Falcons to do the same and take Michael Penix Jr.

That element is one of the many reasons why this year's Quarterback documentary on Netflix is going to be so intriguing, as Cousins will be on the show once again, this time with Joe Burrow and Jared Goff.

Cousins had an up-and-down season. Early on, they beat the Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles in week two and swept the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. However, things went poorly later in the season, including a 32 point loss to the Denver Broncos and a 21 point loss to his former team the Vikings. Those, paired with a rough outing the following week at the Las Vegas Raiders in a brutal 15-9 win on Monday Night Football.

That game against the Raiders got him benched in favor of Penix and he started the rest of the season. He is also going into the 2025 season as the backup to Penix, despite having a massive starting contract.

The real intrigue here is that the cameras will be around when Cousins has his struggles and gets replaced by Penix. Two years ago when he was on the first rendition of quarterback, Cousins revealed that he didn't work on Tuesdays, which created a massive uproar among the Vikings fanbase. It was really a nothing burger, as Cousins still did some work in his home office, but the idea of taking that time off was appalling to the fans.

What will Cousins reveal this year that will get fans riled up? It will be interesting to see what he has in store.
