The Atlanta Falcons are hoping to build a machine on offense for the 2025 season.

Although the Falcons haven't made the playoffs since 2017, there's a lot of hype surrounding this year's squad. Second-year quarterback Michael Penix Jr. is so confident in this group that he told reporters Atlanta's offense will be unstoppable.

"We should be the best in the league," Penix said. "With the guys we got around us, we got a great offensive line as well. Those guys work extremely hard in the trenches with coach [Dwayne] Ledford out there leading those guys, doing a great job with those guys. We should be unstoppable. That's our goal. We should be number one in all the categories on the offensive side of the ball."

Roughly 24 hours after Penix made this comment, the Falcons bolstered their wide receiver room.

According to Mike Garafolo of NFL Network, the Falcons have signed veteran wideout D.J. Chark to a contract. The terms of their agreement are unknown at this time.

Chark will join an offense that features Bijan Robinson, Drake London, Darnell Mooney and Kyle Pitts.

Chark appeared in seven games for the Los Angeles Chargers in 2024, hauling in just four passes for 31 yards and a touchdown.

During the 2023 season, Chark had 525 receiving yards and five touchdowns for the Carolina Panthers. It's safe to say he's not too far removed from being a difference-maker on offense.

On the flip side, Chark's best days appear to be behind him. He hasn't come close to having 1,000 receiving yards in a season since eclipsing that total in 2018.

The Falcons will kick off their 2025 regular season on Sept. 7 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
