Badgers Hosting Big 2026 Commitment Amidst Major Flip Concerns
Former Wisconsin Football 2026 Target Announces New Rutgers Commitment 3 Wisconsin defensive line coach E.J. Whitlow is shown during spring football practice Thursday, April 25, 2024 in Madison, Wisconsin. The Wisconsin Badgers football team plays their season opener against Western Michigan on August 31.

The Wisconsin Badgers are set to bring a commitment back onto campus during the upcoming Big Ten Conference opening game.

Wisconsin will host Maryland on Saturday as Big Ten Conference play officially opens for both programs during the game. Wisconsin is currently 2-1 with a loss suffered to a strong Alabama Crimson Tide team that could make noise in a strong SEC this season. Maryland, however, is 3-0 behind true freshman quarterback Malik Washington who opted to stay close to home rather than play in conferences such as the SEC, Big 12, or ACC.

While the game on the field will likely reveal plenty about each team, the Badgers hope to not only secure a win but also impress the many recruits in attendance. Among the players attending the game will be a current 2026 class commitment, Djidjou Bah, who committed to the Badgers lighting quick over the summer.

Since announcing his commitment, the three-star defensive lineman has continued to see his recruitment take-off with a handful of programs extending offers. Colorado, Penn State, and Missouri are among some of the programs who have begun to fight for a potential commitment flip out of the recruit.

Wisconsin Badgers: Big Ten Rivals Fighting to Gain Ground on 2026 Commitment 3 Wisconsin defensive line coach E.J. Whitlow gives instructions to his group during spring practice outside Camp Randall Stadium in Madison, Wisconsin on Saturday April 13, 2024.

While the Wisconsin Badgers have been the clear leader in the recruitment of Bah with a verbal commitment in hand, that does not mean other programs will stop fighting for a new commitment. Among the programs pushing the most have been Penn State, Colorado, and Missouri.

Missouri is arguably one program that could have the most pull in the recruitment of Bah for a variety of reasons. First, Bah is a native of Tennessee and could stay relatively close to home with a commitment flip to Missouri, which was a program that was not present at the time of his commitment. Additionally, Missouri is willing to be flexible with Bah and play the recruit at multiple positions along the defensive line, which is something Bah stated in the past is important to him.

Additionally, there is Colorado and despite some changes and losses occurring in Colorado, the Buffaloes remain an important figure in the recruitment of Bah. Colorado has a star-studded defensive line coaching room that has been attractive to many recruits with former Michigan assistant coach George Helow, and NFL veterans Domata Peko and Warren Sapp assisting in the pass rush development. The Buffaloes have an immense amount of knowledge surrounding the position and offer views on playing the defensive line that other programs cannot offer.

For the Wisconsin Badgers, holding onto Bah will involve displaying just how the recruit would fit into the program and produce. Bah is focused on making an impact and being put into the correct position to succeed, which likely means that producing on the field along the line will keep the recruit heavily interested.
