Baker Mayfield makes Lambeau Field history with perfect passer rating

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers offense was on fire in the team's 34-20 win over the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field on Sunday.

Bucs quarterback Baker Mayfield had one of the best games of his career, going 22-of-28 for 381 yards and four touchdown passes. Mayfield made Lambeau Field history as the only opposing quarterback to have a perfect 158.3 passer rating at the stadium. Lambeau Field has hosted NFL games since 1957 and the fact it took until 2023 for this to happen is quite astounding.

Baker Mayfield completed 20 of 24 passes against zone coverage for 361 yards & 3 TD in the Buccaneers 34-20 victory over the Packers.

"He's meant everything," Buccaneers head coach Todd Bowles said about Mayfield after the game. "From a mental standpoint to a quarterback standpoint, making plays. From a toughness standpoint, from a leadership standpoint, he's done everything. He's checked all the boxes. He's doing all the right things now and I can't say enough about him."

With the win over the now 6-8 Packers, Tampa Bay maintained their NFC South division lead at 7-7. The New Orleans Saints are also 7-7, but the Buccaneers own the tiebreaker with a 3-1 divisional record. New Orleans has a 2-2 record inside the division. The Atlanta Falcons are also still in striking distance at 6-8. The Buccaneers don't have margin for error. They have to keep winning.

"Our team was really prepared to come in here," Mayfield said. "Just like we talked about, that mentality, a playoff mentality to come in here with just one thing in mind and that was to find a way to win. And we did that. I just couldn't be happier with this group."

Mayfield and the Bucs offense is trending in the right direction at the right time. Their remaining schedule consists of games against the Jacksonville Jaguars, New Orleans Saints and Carolina Panthers.
