The Baltimore Ravens are making another notable move this offseason. It won't affect their roster directly, but rather, their coaching staff is getting a bit more stability. At the same time, they're placing a bit of fun pressure on one of their biggest rivals as well.
The Ravens have reached a three-year contract extension with head coach John Harbaugh, according to Adam Schefter.

The long-time leader in Baltimore gets another extension from the Ravens. With that, Harbaugh and the team indirectly put a bit more pressure on Mike Tomlin and the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Tomlin has the longest active tenure as the coach of an NFL team with 18 years. Harbaugh is right behind him with 17. If Harbaugh keep this job throughout his newest extension, Tomlin will need to keep his role with the Steelers over the next couple of years in order to keep his lead or a share of it.

Harbaugh was entering his final year of his prior deal with Baltimore. Now, that will not be the case.
Ravens have signed longtime head coach John Harbaugh to a three-year contract extension, team announces. Before extension, Harbaugh was heading into final year of deal. Owner Steve Bisciotti has long said that he doesn't want a lame duck head coach.

For the Ravens, this choice makes plenty of sense. While Harbaugh's team has not seen as much postseason success as fans may prefer in recent years, there is no doubting his experience and proven resumé as the head man in Baltimore.
The Ravens have made the playoffs in twelves of John Harbaugh’s seventeen seasons as the team's HC, including one Super Bowl victory.
