Bart Scott, former GM give Maxx Crosby, Raiders advice amid trade rumors

The fact that star pass-rusher Maxx Crosby has not strongly shot down reports claiming he wants to leave the Las Vegas Raiders this offseason has many believing that he has already requested a trade or will do so before the new league year opens on March 11.

During Friday's edition of the ESPN "Get Up" program, former NFL linebacker and current analyst Bart Scott offered Crosby some advice regarding where the 28-year-old should call home next season.

Bart Scott names "amazing spot" for Raiders' Maxx Crosby

"I think the Baltimore Ravens are an amazing spot for him," Scott said about Crosby. "At some point, you get tired of just playing meaningless football. You're tired of being out of the playoffs by October. ...You want to have an opportunity to win a championship. You want to have an opportunity, when you're a great talent like that, you want to be able to be on the biggest stage to show everybody how great you are."

Scott also referenced how Crosby may enjoy playing for new Ravens head coach Jesse Minter, who previously served as the Los Angeles Chargers' defensive coordinator.

Days before Scott offered his take, a report shared that Crosby had told minority owner Tom Brady that "he will never play for" Las Vegas again. Crosby allegedly doesn't want to go through "another rebuild" with the club that shut him down against his wishes before the end of the 2025 season due to a knee injury.

From the 2019 draft through Week 18 of this season, Crosby had more head coaches (five) than playoff appearances (one).

Mike Tannenbaum gives Maxx Crosby advice to Mark Davis, Klint Kubiak

Raiders principal owner Mark Davis and recently hired head coach Klint Kubiak suggested this week that they plan to hold onto Crosby, who signed a three-year, $106.5M contract extension last offseason. On Friday, former NFL general manager and current ESPN personality Mike Tannenbaum hinted that Davis and Kubiak should reconsider how they view Crosby this offseason.

"We have a lot of holes to fill," Tannenbaum said about the Raiders. "...So if I can move on from Maxx Crosby and get multiple high picks, even though he's a great culture [guy] and tone-setter, you've really got to consider it."

The Raiders will reportedly want "probably more" than what the Dallas Cowboys received from the Green Bay Packers for Micah Parsons this past August. The Packers sent the Cowboys two first-round draft picks and defensive tackle Kenny Clark for the right to sign Parsons to a four-year, $188M contract that included $136M guaranteed.
