Beanie Bishop Gets First Career Interception against Future Hall of Famer

PITTSBURGH — One of the few weak links in the Pittsburgh Steelers defense in the first third of the 2024 season has been undrafted rookie Beanie Bishop, who has been the team’s starting Nickel cornerback while Cam Sutton is serving an eight-game suspension.

Bishop has made a number of solid plays, but has also been picked on by opposing quarterbacks at time . With 40-year-old veteran Aaron Rodgers quarterbacking the New York Jets on Sunday night, it seemed that he might pick on Bishop, as well.

But it was the rookie that got the first blow in the battle, with Bishop intercepting Rodgers just before the half for his first career pick.

After Bishop gave the Steelers the ball back, Russell Wilson turned it into points, directing a four-play drive that was capped off by an 11-yard fade to George Pickens in the end zone.
